This is a close up of the mural on the Women’s Building on San Francisco, it took the artists a year to complete. The full mural is below.  from the women’s building website: 

“The theme has many messages: the healing power of women’s wisdom over time, the contributions of women throughout history, and the making of history by women from all corners of the earth. 

A few of the famous women included are Audre Lorde, Georgia O'Keefe, and Rigoberta Menchu. In addition, female icons such as Quan Yin, Yemaya, and Coyoxauqui lend a timeless and spiritual element to the design.”

Rigoberta Menchú is the woman pictured at the top of the first image, (she is holding Yemaya in her hand) and you really should click that link and learn about her, she’s an incredible activist for indigenous rights in Guatemala, and holds the 1992 Nobel peace prize.
